Your system information

Sound Server: PulseAudio (on PipeWire 1.2.1)
Server Version: 15.0.0
Audio is playing through a soundblaster 3 USB dongle

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Back in May I reported an issue #2707 related to audio on linux. There was a lot of progress in solving it, but there was still an issue of audio not booting with the game occasionally. Simply solved by rebooting the game. However after the newest patch the audio has been cutting out.

So far it has happened booting the game, tabbing out, upon connecting to a match, and just being idle at the main menu in the background the audio cut out after 30 minutes. There seems to be no steps to reproduce it.

EDIT: I wanted to add on that both the dev console and journctl both do not show any errors when the audio gives up.

As a temporary measure, can the devs get the console to print something on the steam logs when audio borks? Thank you.

I'm on popos latest version and -xaudio did not fix it. I'm on X11. Vanilla pop os.

You can probably see errors accumulate in pw-top.

See the sister CS2 issue for workarounds in the case you're running into the same PW issue - ValveSoftware/csgo-osx-linux#3832
