export and import serialized annotations. is this possible?

i am wondering if it is possible to do the following with pdf.js:

• export the annotations as a serialization; xfdf or some sort of json or something along those lines.
• load a pdf and set annotations based on a previously-exported serialization.

i am currently working with the web viewer; basically this page:

https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html

and have spent an hour or two reading and poking about and found nothing that hints of this functionality.

there is a const map = PDFViewerApplication.pdfDocument.annotationStorage.serializable.map

I add it to the download method in viewer.mjs and got the js Map with serialized fields, so it's easy to get a json. (but I struggle to convert it to xfdf)

As for the load and set annotations part - I still investigating
