rbenv install 3.2.2 fails on M1 ARM64

Hi!

I'm trying to install ruby 3.2.2 via rbenv install 3.2.2 on a M1 Mac ARM64 and get the following error message:

Does anyone know what's causing this?
Have been trying to fix this for quite some time but can't get it resolved.
I'll send a free gift for the person who can help me resolve it :-)!

Hi, sorry this has gone unnoticed. You have an M1 machine, therefore ruby-build should be reporting the arm64 CPU architecture, but instead the build failed message prints x86_64 for architecture:

BUILD FAILED (macOS 15.1.1 on x86_64 using ruby-build 20241105)

That tells me that you are likely running rbenv or ruby-build under Rosetta 2, maybe via the arch -x86_64 utility on the command line? Check with type rbenv in your shell to see whether "rbenv" is an alias to that, or check your shell initialization files for usages of arch -x86_64.
