Hi, I'm Michael! I've been a software engineer for over 20 years.. and a programmer since I got my first Amiga 2000 back in 1988 when I was 10 years old. Software and computers have always been a passion of mine. I work with and across numerous levels in software and technology, from frontend / backend development, systems architecture, project management, devops, and more. I've worked at and started a number of companies, and have always tried to bridge the gap between the engineering and the business.

One of my passion projects has been my open source accounting system "Plutus" written for Ruby on Rails. The system grew out my experience with my own and other companies starting businesses, becoming successful and making money, and then finding out from their accountants that their books where a disaster! The ruby gem provides a complete double entry accounting system for use in any Ruby on Rails application. It's in the top 5% of downloaded ruby gems, and has been used in production systems dating back to Rails 2 and now Rails 8.

Supporting me on Github will allow me to continue working and supporting the Plutus open source project, or potentially expand into other open source projects.
