How to generate plots?

How were the plots in the official documentation created?
e.g., https://docs.spring.io/spring-statemachine/docs/current/reference/images/statechart2.png

Is there some graph generating tool available? Or a GUI editor - just like in QtCreator?
Currently, I am generating a .dot file manually and call dot, but there must be a better way.

Answering myself.
The workflow is sort of reverse:

• create state machine with Papyrus
• the state-machine can be plot by Papyrus by exporting it, say as PNG
• the state-machine can be instantiated by a UML reader

FYI, QtCreator has the same workflow. Edit SCXML with the GUI editor, and use instantiate from the code.

There seems to be no documentation how to plot an existing state-machine created directly in the source code.
