[General]: Planning of the projekt overhaul in SoSe-2025

Detailed Description

An overhaul of the project infrastructure is taking place in SoSe-2025.
This issue tracks the planning for this overhaul.

Main goals of the overhaul:

• Port the project to ROS 2, because ROS 1 (Noetic) is EOL in May 2025
• Improvements to the docker infrastructure
• General improvements for future students working on the project

The detailed WIP plan can be found in the associated branch under doc/research/overhaul25

The overhaul is done as Peter Viechter's Projektmodul.

Definition of Done

• Plan contains all necessary steps for the ROS 2 port
• Assessment of risks and potential problems
• List of possible general improvements with

  • Priority
  • Integration timepoint -> When this improvement should be worked on / be integrated. (e.g. some docker improvements might be worked directly into the initial ROS 2 Dockerfile)
