Unable to build MADSkillsNavigation sample

I'm using Android Studio Electric Eel. When I try to run the project I get this error:

FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

* What went wrong:
Execution failed for task ':app:compileDebugJavaWithJavac'.

I tried checking out older versions, but it doesn't seem to work. Really wanted to test it out.

update classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:7.0.0' in build.pradle(Projet) solve the problem.

But still some works needs to be done for app to work
