Check if image exist

Greetings,
I'm running a script that backs up all images on my servers. The script works well. however, some images that I complied from client.images.list fail when I run client.images.get.
How can I test if an image exists before I try to "get" it?

maybe list the image using filter first like below

import docker

client = docker.from_env()

image_name = 'image-name'
filterred_images = client.images.list(filters={'reference': image_name})

if len(filterred_images) > 0:
    print('image exist')
else:
    print('image not exist')
