Feature Request: password change using masterkey

Sorry, docs don't seem to have an example syntax for this...

How do I change a password when I have the masterkey but I don't know the old password?

No, sorry, that's not possible currently. I agree that it makes sense, but if you want an immediate solution you will have to copy the data to a new filesystem.
